How do you choose the main image of an artwork?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The main image is the first photo of your artwork that users see. It is the primary image displayed on the website’s homepage, in the artwork catalog, and in the curated artwork collections featured on Artsper. It is also the first large image shown on the artwork’s dedicated page.

In the main image, the artwork must be shown from the front and properly cropped. It should not appear distorted. Please make sure to crop the image so that no margins extend beyond the artwork itself.

It is important to feature the framed artwork as the main image, as it is more attractive to buyers and helps drive more sales.

For paintings, drawings, prints and photographs, a situational view is automatically generated on the artwork’s page on the site. If a margin is present on the main image that you upload, it will be visible on this simulation as if it were part of the artwork.
