The Additional Notes module features a collapsible notes section with a title, placeholder, and an expandable notes field. Notes written by your customer will be displayed in the order section of your Shopify admin.

You can see the notes from the orders page or the order details page in your Shopify admin. To learn more about viewing your order notes, see this help doc in Shopify called Managing Order Details.

There are three customization settings for Additional Notes:

The notes title is what signifies to your customer how they can leave a note that is attached to their order. You can edit the Notes Title in the Additional Notes Module under 'Notes Title'.

You can style the Notes Title by highlighting the piece of text you want to change, and then using the bold, italics, underline, and color buttons above the field.

If your customer clicks on the note title, it will show the notes text box so that they can start writing their note. When they finish writing a note, a checkmark will appear beside the title, indicating that a note has been added.

The notes placeholder is text that signifies to your customer where they can leave a note that is attached to their order.

This is the piece of text that displays in the notes text box before your customer types into it. Once your customer starts typing, the text they write replaces the placeholder text.

This setting allows you to choose where you want the notes section to be placed on your cart. There are two options available: below the cart items or at the top of the footer.

This setting places it below all of the items in the customer's cart.

This means if your customers have many items, the notes section won't be visible unless they scroll down to see it.

This also means that upsells and add-ons may appear below the Additional Notes section.

This setting places the additional notes section on the top of UpCart's footer.

Since it's inside the footer, this means that the notes section will always be visible if you haven't disabled the Sticky Footer. Even if your customers have 20 items in their cart!

This also means that the upsells will show above the additional notes and the add-ons will show below the additional notes.

If you want to place the Additional Notes section somewhere else, we recommend consulting a Shopify Expert about adding HTML, CSS, or JavaScript to your cart drawer.
