This customization only works with Version 1 of the Upcart cart modules. If you recently upgraded your cart to Version 2, these customizations may not work. You will need to use the new selectors provided for Version 2 in the migration guide.
If your customizations are not working as expected, you can also revert your cart back to Version 1 instead of using Version 2.

Overview
This guide helps you troubleshoot situations where Upcart does not open because your theme’s default cart is taking over. Adjusting your Cart Type setting can often resolve the issue and allow Upcart to function as intended.
What Cart Type to Choose
Page: This is usually the best option since Upcart intercepts requests to the /cart page.
Drawer: Select this if Upcart fails to launch and the /cart page is being triggered instead.
Testing both options only takes a few minutes, but Page is typically the most effective choice.
Steps to Find the Cart Settings in Your Theme
Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize in your Shopify admin.
Open Theme Settings > Cart > Cart Type.
Choose either Page or Drawer based on the behavior you are troubleshooting.
Save your changes and test the cart on your storefront.

If you cannot locate this setting or need assistance, please contact your theme developer. Because this setting is controlled by your theme, Upcart cannot modify it directly.
