Before we get right to it, consider the following disclaimer points for proper context when installing UpCart:

  • UpCart is a cart drawer overlay app embed.

  • It does not integrate with your theme cart drawer, or with your theme cart page.

  • It is meant to visually replace your theme cart, however the theme cart page will still be accessible in the store.

Cart Design

When you first access UpCart's Cart Editor from the app menu, the cart editor page will appear with the Module Menu and the Design Module selected. In this section, you can configure the base colors of the cart drawer to align with your store's branding.

Announcements Bar

To display a timer with a short announcements inside the cart, click on the Announcements tab under the Body section. In the message at the top of the page, click the Activate button.

Add your custom message to the announcement bar and set up your timer if you'd like to provide a sense of urgency to the customer.

Click Save at the top right of the screen to make sure your changes are saved.

Rewards

If you'd like to display a reward tracking bar that shows how close the customer is to receiving their free shipping, or their volume based discount, you will want to set up the Rewards Module to engage the customer into buying more on your store.

General Settings

Top section of the page will let you set the reward bar to match your branding colors, as well as set up the Text after completing full rewards bar. You also have a chance to choose between two Reward Basis options to determine what to track:

  • Cart Total - Counts the total monetary value of items added to the cart

  • Item Count - Counts the total quantity of items added to the cart.

Rewards Settings

Select the reward type you want to offer. you have three options:

  • Shipping - Takes applied discounts into consideration (as per Shopify's rules)

  • Discount - Ignores any applied discounts as to not affect itself

  • Product - Ignores applied discounts and adds a selected product reward

Set the minimum amount for the item count/value to achieve the reward. Text before achieving will show while the progress bar is reaching the set tier.

You also have an option of adding another reward tier, with a limit of three reward tiers in total inside UpCart.

Upsells

In the upsells module, select the "Use AI Recommended upsells" option, and keep it on the "Related" recommendation algorithm, enable Smart Variant Matching as well:

If you would like to set up manual upsells, refer to our Upsell Module Documentation to learn how to use product and collection triggers to upsell specific products.

Add-ons

To display an add-on upsell with a toggle in the footer of the cart, you can use UpCart's own Shipping Protection product, which allows to use dynamic pricing based on the total value of the cart (enabled at the bottom of the section):

Note: UpCart's Shipping Protection will create an actual product in your store's product list. For more info, please refer to our Add-ons Module Documentation
