Upcart x Globo Product Options, Variant

This article explains how to integrate Globo Product Options and Variant with Upcart to ensure both apps work together smoothly.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

On most themes, third-party apps like Globo modify the default Add to Cart button with a custom function. This can prevent Upcart from triggering properly, leading to cart redirects or skipped drawer openings.

How to Fix

Follow these steps to adjust settings in both Upcart and Globo:

  1. In the Upcart app, go to Cart Editor > Settings > Advanced Settings.

  2. Enable the option Enhanced Ajax API Compatibility.

This setting improves compatibility with apps that use custom add-to-cart actions. Without it enabled, customers may be redirected to the store’s default cart page instead of seeing the Upcart drawer.

Next, update your Globo settings:

  1. Open the Globo Product Options app.

  2. Locate and disable the option:

“Redirect to the shopping cart page after adding a product.”

Disabling this ensures that the Upcart drawer opens correctly after a product is added to the cart.

Why This Happens

Globo Product Options replaces Shopify’s default Add to Cart process with a custom script. When this happens, Upcart cannot detect the cart update unless Enhanced Ajax API Compatibility is enabled.

Turning on this setting allows Upcart to recognize custom add-to-cart actions and prevents unwanted redirects to the default cart page.
