Whether your adding a brand new carrier to your AscendTMS account or just want to sync your MCP network with your existing Ascend carriers the integration of MyCarrierPortal and AscendTMS has got you covered!
In this article, we will explore a few different scenarios for you that way, no matter what, you can have a plan in place for every carrier onboarding situation that may arise.
This article also assumes that you have already connected your AscendTMS to your MyCarrierPortal account. If you require assistance with connecting your MCP account to AscendTMS, please visit the Help Guide below.
Scenario #1:
You are onboarding a new carrier that doesn't exist in AscendTMS and isn't set up through MyCarrier Portal (MCP).
Begin by adding the Carrier to AscendTMS.
Once the Carrier has been added, invite them to onboard and fill out your Carrier Packet through MCP directly from AscendTMS by clicking the "Request Carrier Packet Via Intellivite" button found within the Carrier Verification section of the Carrier Profile page (it's at the bottom of the page).
You will be notified by MCP via email once the carrier has finished filling out your setup packet.
If you decide NOT to use the super convenient Request Carrier Packet Via Intellivite button inside of AscendTMS, you can use the process that exists on MyCarrierPortal's site to send the setup invitation to the carrier.
To access carrier monitoring, ratings, and risk assessments updated in real time, simply navigate to MyCarrierPortal tab.
The section shown in the image above pulls in the most recent information from MCP, so you're always viewing the most up to date Ratings and Risk Assessment info on your carrier every time you visit the page.
Scenario #2:
The Carrier exists in your AscendTMS account but not in your MyCarrierPortal network.
In this scenario, you’ll follow the exact same steps outlined above in Scenario #1 —only this time, there’s no need to add the carrier to AscendTMS.
Whether you choose to use the Request Carrier Packet via Intellivite button or set them up directly through MCP is entirely up to you.
Scenario #3:
The Carrier Exists in MyCarrierPortal but not in your AscendTMS account.
In this scenario, a simple Import Carriers from MyCarrierPortal action should be performed.

Scenario #4:
The carrier exists in both MyCarrier Portal and your AscendTMS account.
This is by far the easiest of all the scenarios.
Just head to your carriers tab inside of AscendTMS and click "View Carriers"
Perform a quick search for the carrier you're searching for
"Double-click" on the Carrier name to enter the Carrier profile, or, single click on the Carrier name and select Edit Carrier from the options above the search field
Once you've entered the Carrier profile, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the MyCarrierPortal Tab
And all of your data will automatically sync between MCP and AscendTMS.
