This quick guide will show you how to activate Highway, complete your setup, and start verifying carriers, preventing fraud, and onboarding trusted partners — all from within AscendTMS.
Get Started by Sending Your Integration Request to Highway
Begin by selecting the Settings tab found on the left side of your AscendTMS screen
Locate the AscendTMS Plans, Features and Billing Details section, then select Add or Edit Your Carrier Onboarding/Monitoring Settings
There you will see the Highway Connect section.
Select the check box option titled, I do not currently have a Highway Connect account and would like to setup a new subscription to Highway Connect right here in my AscendTMS account, and click Next.
From the next screen (shown below), you’ll need to choose your Highway subscription tier.
Each tier is based on the number of carriers you want Highway to continuously monitor.
AscendTMS will automatically display how many carriers are currently in your Carrier List (as shown below).
If you’d prefer to send only a portion of your carriers during the initial setup, you’ll be redirected to the Search My Carriers screen in AscendTMS — where you can select which carriers to send to Highway.
Once you’ve chosen whether to send some or all carriers, click Next.
This will take you to the final setup screen, where you can confirm your desired Highway tier and submit your Integration Request.
Make sure to read and agree by selecting the check boxes highlighted below, then click Subscribe to Highway Connect.
That's it! Your Subscription/Integration Request has now been submitted! 🙌
Highway Approval & Onboarding Process
Highway uses a proprietary vetting and verification process to review every broker application. As a result, not all applicants are approved. Please allow 5–7 business days for Highway to review your request.
Once approved, the next step is yours — completing the Highway Onboarding Packet.
Highway will contact you directly with instructions to complete your onboarding. Be sure to work with Highway to complete this step promptly, as it’s required before Highway can issue your API key.
After your onboarding packet is completed, Highway will securely send the API key directly to the AscendTMS Support team.
Our team will then use that API key to activate your Highway account within AscendTMS. Once activation is complete, your Highway integration will be live and ready to use.
From there, you can proceed to the Highway Connect Onboarding Carriers Help Guide (linked below) to finish setup and begin verifying carriers through Highway.
