Timing & Triggers for popup surveys

Choose when a popup survey will be shown

An Asklayer survey can be triggered to popup in a number of ways.

Trigger options can be found in the 'Delivery' section of the survey editor by clicking 'Next step' once you have finished creating your survey.


Click the 'Site widget' switch to access the trigger options, found in the 'Timing' section.

Available triggers

Standard 10 seconds after page load

The survey will trigger 10 seconds after a user accesses the targeted page.

Show immediately

The survey will trigger as soon as the user accesses the targeted page.

Display on exit intent

The survey will trigger when the user moves their cursor out of the window (desktop) or when the user attempts to switch tabs (mobile).

Time on site longer than

When a user remains on the targeted page longer than the entered number of seconds the survey will trigger.

Idle on site for

When a user does not interact with the mouse or keyboard or touchscreen for longer than the entered number of seconds the survey will trigger.

Scroll depth reaches

When a user scrolls more than the selected distance down the page the survey will trigger.
