Tags can be used to identify users who chose specific answers or answered within a range, for example users who picked positive or negative feedback.
These tags can be passed on to Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Shopify, Shopify flows and many other platforms via webhooks.
How it works
For the system to be able to tag a user, they need to be identified. Anonymous users can't be tagged. A user is identifiable when any of the following apply:
Condition | Identifiable? |
Answers on the post-purchase page | Yes |
Is logged in while answering | Yes |
Submits their email address via the Asklayer 'email' question type | Yes |
Answers a dedicated page survey where the customer ID is in the URL (for example, if the customer ID is 123456: https://survey.asklayer.io/xxxx/yyyy?platformId=123456) | Yes |
None of the above | No — can't be tagged |
Steps
Open the survey editor and go to the 'questions' page.
On any question, set a tag for a specific answer, or for a range of answers (for numeric/satisfaction question types).
To tag anyone who answers the survey — regardless of their specific answers — go to the 'actions' page instead and set a tag there.
