Initiate the Funding of your DAF

All DAFs on AssetMark Charitable are Advisor Managed Accounts (AMAs) that are managed by your advisor. To fund your DAF, reach out to your advisor and review the amount you are looking to allocate to your donor-advised fund. Your advisor will contribute to the AMA outside of the platform.

Every night, a contribution file showing all transactions is uploaded into AssetMark Charitable with the details of the contribution. Advisors and their clients will be able to use the platform to view the details, contribution status, contribution history, and tax receipt.

New Contributions

After a new contribution has been made to your AssetMark Charitable DAF account, you will see a pop up window with the contribution details upon logging in. Here is an example of a security and cash contribution attestation:

When contributing securities into your DAF, a client would see a Contribution Confirmation page to attest to the security contribution that includes information such as:

  • Contributor Name

  • Date Received

  • Symbol

  • Number of Shares

The client must confirm the contribution by checking the attestation box and clicking Approve Contributions.

After reviewing and attesting to the contribution, you will brought to the DAF overview page, where you can view your historical Philanthropic Impact:

Contribution History

After reviewing and attesting to the contribution, you will be able to view the status of your contribution. You can either click Philanthropic Impact on the right upper hand tile of the dashboard, or View Recent Transactions in the toolbar on the lefthand side

In the top right table, view your aggregated Total DAF Balance, Pending Contributions, and Total Contributions.

You can also view your transactions, impact over a specific time range, and also your family activity

Below this is a list of all transactions. Toggle off grants and campaigns to filter down to contributions only. You can search for a specific contribution or select a date range to filter your results

To view the status of a contribution, click details on the right hand side

  1. Pending - the contribution details have been received from the AssetMark Charitable team, and the contribution is being reviewed and reconciled

  2. Reconciled - the contribution has been reconciled and the balance is now available

  3. Canceled - the contribution has been canceled by the advisor
