Inviting a client to create their DAF account

  1. You'll start by creating the DAF account in eWealth manager. Once the account is created, you will then SSO over to the AssetMark Charitable site under that client's agent code

  2. You will be brought to the client invite page

  3. Fill in the client's details

    1. First and last name

    2. Email

    3. Phone Number

    4. Type of Fund

  4. There are two types of funds you can open for your client:

    1. Donor advised fund: A Donor Advised Fund is a charitable account where donors contribute funds, receive a tax deduction, and recommend grants over time.

      1. After choosing Donor Advised Fund, you will need to choose the custodian and enter the account number

      2. Confirm the client details and click Invite Client

    2. Single Charity Fund: Single Charity Fund is designed to benefit one specific nonprofit organization, often contributed to via Requirement Minimum Distributions (RMD's)

    3. Hence the name, the big difference between a DAF and a SCF is you must designate a single charity to receive all grants out of the fund. Therefore, the first step is to choose that designated charity

    4. Once you've chosen the charity, complete filling out the remaining details

  5. Select the Primary Advisor from the drop down (Options are pre-determined based on Agent Code mapping within eWealth Manager.


Client Setup Overview

Once the client has been invited you can track the status of their setup through the "Manage Clients" page

In the Action column - you will see various statues

  • "Resent Invite" - The client has not yet begun the account setup process

  • "Nudge to Complete Setup" - The client has set their password but still needs to login and complete their account setup by selecting their causes and confirming their fund details

  • "Confirm AMA Account Status" - The advisor needs to enter the external ID/ account number. Click the "Confirm AMA Account Status" number to enter the account number.

Once the client has completed setup, the advisor will see the option to "View As Client." This allows them to impersonate their client's DAF.


Updating a Client's Email Address

Follow the steps below to update a client's email address. Please note that updating an email address can only be completed by an advisor.

  1. On the advisor dashboard page click on Manage Clients and click the pencil icon next to the client's name:

  2. Update the client email address and click Save Changes
    ​

  3. The client will receive an email to the new email address and will be asked to confirm these changes. After confirmation, the client's email will be successfully updated.
