Regular and frequent updates are a great way to keep stakeholders in the loop, get early feedback, and broadcast your progress. But what if you don't want to go to another tool to write your updates? What if you'd like to communicate from where you work?

Atlas supports posting updates from:

This article will walk you through posting updates from Jira Software.

How to post updates from Jira Software

First, make sure the Atlas project you want to update is linked to an epic or other epic-level issue. You can learn more about how to do that here: How to link work in Jira Software to goals and projects powered by Atlas

Note that to post updates you'll need to either be an owner or a contributor on the project.

Now, to start writing your update click on the Post your update field at the top. This will open the update composer you're used to from Atlas.

This composer is identical to the one in Atlas and supports the same features. This includes templates, more details section, images and video attachments, 280 character count, and more.

Next, type your update, click Post, and you're done!

You can view the new update in the Status update field in your issue, in Atlas, or in Slack and Microsoft Teams (if you linked the Atlas project to a channel).
