Regular and frequent updates are a great way to keep stakeholders in the loop, receive early feedback, and broadcast your progress. But what if you don't want to go to another tool to write your updates? What if you'd like to communicate from where you work?

Then no worries, we got you!

Atlas supports posting updates from:

This article will walk you through posting updates from Slack.

How to post updates from Slack

First, make sure you have the Atlas Slack app installed on your Slack workspace. You can get the app for here on the Slack app marketplace or learn more about the app here: How to use Atlas with Slack

At this point you should also have an Atlas project you'd like to updates. Note that to post updates you'll need to either be an owner or a contributor on the project.

Now, to start writing your update visit the Atlas by Atlassian app chat. You can find it under the Apps section in Slack. Then, type and send the /atlas update command in the chat.

At this point the app will send a message with some instructions in the chat. This may take a few seconds, depending on the size of your workspace.

From here follow the app's instruction to post your update.

If you encounter any problems please click on the Give feedback button, located in the first message.

You can view the new update in Atlas, Slack, and Microsoft Teams (if you linked the Atlas project to a channel).
