👍 This article will help you:
Edit point profile information, including scope, display unit, and sensitivity thresholds
Reference other points to create a calculated point formula
Link a point to an appropriate utility prices schedule
To access the Point Profile, go to Points on the left navigation bar, select a point, then select Profile from the tab menu.
Point Details
Field | Description |
Point name | The point's full name. Examples: |
Point short name | Include a shortened point name to be shown in place of the Point name on cards and visualizations (optional). |
Atrius ID | The point's unique identifier in Atrius. It should be changed with caution, as it can affect calculated points. |
Building | The building which your point is intended to monitor. |
Asset(s) | The asset(s) which your point is intended to monitor. If a point is not associated with an asset, then this field does not display. |
Point scope | Point scope determines whether a point represents an entire building or only a portion of a building. |
Data type | A high level categorization of your point's data type. Use this to filter the list of available point types displayed below. |
Point type | The point's point type, which allows you to filter points in tables and cards in Atrius. Point type determines the available reading type and unit options displayed below. |
Point type category | Filters the point type field for easier navigation. |
Reading type | Reading type determines how incoming readings are processed. |
Source unit | The unit of measure used by the point's source system. Or the unit in which you will be manually uploading data. |
Display unit | The unit of measure in which point data are displayed in the Data Manager. Note: In dashboard cards, you may choose other display units, regardless of what is set on the Point's profile. |
Source resolution (optional) | The expected resolution of the incoming data. For example, if data is being pushed at minutely intervals, select 'High resolution.' If data is received on a daily basis, select 'Daily'. If you are uploading monthly bill data, select 'Monthly.' |
Offline threshold | Offline threshold determines the duration after which a notification email will be sent about an offline point. |
List of tags assigned to the point.
Description (optional) | The point's description or other notes, such as its location or installer. |
🚧 Important notes about point scope
You may specify only one Whole building point for each point type, for each building.
Points supersede bill points: If a building has both a Whole building point and a Whole building bill point for a given point type, the point will be used.
To update point scope for multiple points at once, go to Points on the left side menu. Select one or more points using the checkboxes on the left side of the table. Then, go to Actions > Set scope.
Emissions
This section will appear only if Emissions is included in your license.
Field | Description |
Yes - Emissions for the selected point are included in the totals displayed in the Emissions app and Dashboards.
No - The selected point will not be included in emissions totals. Emissions for these points can be viewed by selecting the individual point to display on a card.
Indicates how much of a point is derived from fossil fuel. The value is used to calculate CO2e (AR6). |
Formula
*Note: The formula section displays for calculated points only.
Field | Description |
Input point(s) | The point(s) used in the calculated point formula, and their corresponding storage units (in parentheses). |
Formula | Enter the formula that should be used to calculate readings for this point. When creating a formula, you can reference other points in Atrius by appending a '$' in front of the desired point's Atrius ID (e.g., $Atrius_ID). You can also use many of the same mathematical operators found in formulas created in spreadsheet applications, including +, -, , /, and parentheses. Examples: |
Partial calculation | When partial calculation is enabled, evaluation occurs when one or more of the input points have a reading. Otherwise, all input points must have a reading. |
Calculated Points
Field | Description |
Calculated point(s) | The calculated point(s) in which this point is cited in a calculated point formula. |
Integration
Field | Description |
Integration | The point's integration type. |
Account (optional) | The point's account. |
Spike threshold | Spike threshold determines the sensitivity of spike detection. Atrius spike detection filters out unusually high readings based on the multiple specified here. Once detected, these high readings, or spikes, are hidden from dashboards and apps, and can be inspected in Data Manager. |
Flatline threshold | Flatline threshold determines the sensitivity of flatline filtering. Atrius can detect and filter out flatline readings. Flatlines typically occur when the connection between a point and point gateway/building automation system is broken for any reason. The point will not appear to be offline because Atrius is receiving values from the point gateway, but those values are not incrementing. If the point totalizer fails to increment for longer than the duration specified here, Atrius can alert you and begin deleting further incoming readings in order to protect the data set from inaccurate '0' readings. |
Validation threshold | New readings above the validation threshold, when compared to historical entries, will trigger a warning. This is available for Manual Points only. |
Validation set | The historical dataset used by the Validation threshold. This is available for Manual Points only. |
Utility prices schedule(s) | The utility pricing schedule(s) associated with the point. This ensures that cost calculations use the appropriate rates and tariffs set forth by your utility provider or your organization. |
