Why is my ePub opening in a Browser or showing up as Web file?

This is due to a setting on your computer where your default reader/opening tool is internet explorer. If you haven't downloaded an ereader or haven't changed this from the default setting, then all epubs will display the icon for the program they are associated with. This is solely because that's the default program it uses to open the file, not because the file is an internet explorer document. If you right click the file and hit properties, you'll see it says epub.
