Our Collaboration Roles allow for different settings to be accessed in the Writing toolbar when you share your book with other Atticus Authors. Based on the role you assign them (Editor, Co-Write, or Beta Reader) will determine the level of changes they can make in your book and what their toolbar will appear as.
How to Choose the Best Role for Your Book’s Needs
Beta Reader: If you want a fellow Author to be able to only read your book.
Editor: If you want a fellow Author to be able to read and make light edits to your book that still require your approval. Editors can add things, change formatting to a “paragraph” or “headings,” and add bold, italics, or underline in your book.
Co-Writer: If you want a fellow Author to have the same access to editing your book as you do, with approvals still made by you.
It’s important to note that regardless of the role you assign a user, your book is still owned by you, and you can revoke access at any time.
We hope this helps and clarifies what each role can do!
