To ensure your contact import runs smoothly, mobile numbers in your CSV file must be formatted correctly. Here's how to get it right:

Before You Start

Make sure your CSV file includes all required contact information and that mobile numbers meet the following requirements.

Mobile Number Format Requirements

  • Cell format should be set to General or Text

  • Mobile numbers must include:

    • Country calling code

    • Area code

    • Phone number

  • Both numbers with a + symbol and without are accepted

  • Spaces and dashes will be ignored

Example formats:
+61400123456 or 61400123456

How to Reformat Mobile Numbers in Excel

If your mobile numbers don’t include country codes, you can reformat them using a formula:

  1. Open your CSV file in Excel.

  2. Add a new column next to the mobile number column.

  3. Use the following formula (replace A2 with your cell reference and 61 with your country code):

    arduinoCopyEdit="61"&A2
  4. Click on the cell with the formula, hover over the bottom-right corner until the + sign appears.

  5. Double-click to auto-fill the formula down the column.

  6. Copy and paste the new column values as plain text before saving.
