Why can't the seller give title directly to the buyer?

We strongly advise against handing the title directly to the buyer.* In fact, we instruct our sellers NOT to bring their title to test drives or transaction appointments. Instead, the seller will surrender the title to PSX. Our Title Specialists will thoroughly inspect the title to ensure it is correctly endorsed before processing, thereby preventing any potential delays for buyers. Furthermore, we want to protect sellers from "title skipping" fraud.

*The only exception to this would be buyers in the state of Massachusetts where temporary permits are not recognized.
