Documentation or Escrow Fee – Ensure identities are verified, funds are transferred securely, documents are prepared correctly, and the vehicle title is clean and clear of any liens. The name of the fee (doc fee v. escrow fee) depends on if PSX will be titling and/or registering on behalf of the new owner. These fees vary by location and applicable state laws but max out at $250.
Government Taxes & Fees – These vary widely by state and may include sales or other excise taxes, temporary permits, inspection fees, and title and registration fees. You are ultimately responsible for paying these taxes and fees. Who you pay depends on what title and registration services PSX does on your behalf.
For example, if PSX titles, but does not register the vehicle on your behalf, PSX will collect the taxes and fees required by the state to transfer the title into your name while you are responsible for registering the vehicle and paying the applicable registration fees directly to the state.
Late Fees – In order to meet state-imposed deadlines, we require all requested documents be completed within 5 business days of receipt. Failure to send us the requested documents in that timeframe could result in late fees up to $300.
