Understanding sources, connectors, and accounts

Learn how Avian defines these concepts and how it impacts you

Updated over 10 months ago

Avian seamlessly integrates with a variety of data sources to gather the analytics you need to make informed decisions. Understanding three key elements—Sources, Connectors, and Accounts—is essential to maximizing the value you get from our Avian.

Definitions

Sources

Sources are the foundation of data collection. They refer to the various platforms where your data is stored and from which we can extract insights.

Examples of sources include Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) Ads, and BigQuery. See a list of all supported data sources here.

Connectors

Connectors act as the bridge between Avian and your data sources. They are configurations you set up within our platform to access and pull data from a specific source. You can establish multiple connectors to the same sources to access different sets of data.

Accounts

Accounts within Avian correspond to the accounts you have created within your data sources. If you manage multiple website properties or ad accounts across platforms like Google Analytics or Facebook Ads, each one will appear as separate accounts within our platform. This granularity allows you to organize and analyze data at a more detailed level.

See below for a breakdown of which properties correspond to accounts in various analytics and advertising platforms.
