Learn how to configure your own Custom AI Analyst

Updated over 10 months ago

If you want to analyze a specific group of accounts or situation, you can set up a Custom Analyst with preconfigured specifications and instructions. This is useful for internal use like business unit or campaign analysis. Users can also share Custom Analysts with their stakeholders or clients for realtime insights.

Follow these steps to create your own custom analyst:

  • Visit chat.avian.io and click "Create Analyst" on the top left part of the screen

  • On the My Analysts page, click "Create an Analyst"

  • A configuration screen that appears, define your Custom Analyst's parameters:

    • Enter a Name: Assign a name to your custom analyst; this will be the identifier displayed within the platform.

    • Add a Description: Provide a concise summary that describes the functions your analyst will perform. This is visible to end-users.

    • Instructions: Input custom instructions to guide the AI's behavior and response patterns. Use this field to detail the specific analysis rules, user details, and response styles. This is not visible to end-users.

    • Creator Company Logo: Upload a square logo to accompany the Creator Company name. This visual identifier will appear alongside the company name.

    • Creator Company Name: Input the name of the company that created the Custom Analyst. This name will be displayed to end-users.

    • Conversation Starters: Configure preset prompts that will be readily available above the chat text input field for quick access.

    • Knowledge: Upload any reference documents, like PDFs or CSVs, that the Custom Analyst can consult for informed responses. This could include media plans, KPI definitions, sample reports, or other relevant materials.

    • Data Sources: Select the specific data sources and accounts the custom analyst is authorized to access for analysis, ensuring accuracy and security of data usage.

  • Click the "Save" button to store your configuration. (Be sure to save before testing the Custom Analyst)

  • After saving, select "Try this analyst out" to use the Custom Analyst.

Once a Custom Analyst is created, it can be accessed at the top of the chat history window. To interact with the Analyst, hover over its name and click the three dot menu to edit it and the pencil icon to start a new chat with that Custom Analyst.

A note about data source management: There are two steps to configuring the data you want to share with the Custom Analyst. You can toggle data on and off at both the Source level and the Account level.

You can add a Data Source to the Custom Analyst by checking the box in the Data Sources section. Click the name of the Data Source to select the account(s) you want to share with the Custom Analyst.

If a Data Source isn't checked, the Custom Analyst cannot see that data source, even if Accounts within that Data Source are enabled.
