When do external request links expire?
External request links expire at the end of the award cycle or when an applicant clicks the Send New Request button to send a new request. External request forms also become inaccessible to the recipient once they have been submitted.

Why was the applicant able to submit their application with an incomplete external request (e.g. recommendation letter)?
Applicants can submit their applications with an incomplete external request because of a setting on the external request template. To require completed external requests for application submission, go to the Settings tab, select the External Requests tab, and select the specific external request from the dropdown. Next, you can expand the Request Details section and check the box for 'Require response before request is considered complete'. Please click here for additional information.
A recommender sent me their letter directly. How I can upload this letter on the student's behalf?
An external request can be completed on the student's behalf by going to the Users tab, locating the student account, and selecting the Application tab. Next, you can find the external request item and click 'View External Request Form'. The browser will open up to the external request, which you can complete and submit.
How can I change the recipient of an external request (e.g. recommendation letter request) on behalf of a student?
The external request recipient can be changed by impersonating the applicant. To do this, head to the Users tab, locate the student account, and click Impersonate User. Next, select the Application tab, locate the external request, and click Send New Request. The original request link will become invalid once the new request is sent.
Can the applicant resend their recommendation request (to a different person, because there was a typo in their email, etc.)?
Yes, applicants can send new requests by clicking 'Send New Request' from their application view. The original request link will become invalid once the new request is sent.
