✨ Powerful Updates Across the Platform plus a New SpringIQ Feature

This release expands SpringIQ, AwardSpring’s intelligence layer, and introduces new features that bring smarter evaluation, better insights, and greater control to the platform.

With this release, you can now:

  • Enable AI-generated summaries of student applications

  • Temporarily deactivate scholarships without deleting or closing them permanently

  • Apply students in bulk from the Award&Deny screen using a list of applicant emails

  • Automatically synchronize emails sent from external tools (such as Gmail or Outlook) with Donor Activity history

#1: SpringIQ: Applicant Summary

We’re introducing SpringIQ: Applicant Summary, a new feature that automatically reads and summarizes a student’s full application.

  • Once you enable this feature, all future submissions will include an AI-generated summary available for review on the Award & Deny screen and Student profile.

  • As a scholarship administrator, you’ll be able to quickly review each applicant’s strengths, experiences, and overall fit for your program.

  • Evaluation becomes faster and more consistent, especially when reviewing large applicant pools.

Navigation to enable the feature: Application Tab / Hidden Sections

#2: Ability to Temporarily Deactivate a Scholarship

Now you can temporarily deactivate scholarships without removing them from your system. Deactivated scholarships are not accepting applications or checking student qualifications, while remaining available for future use.

#3 Apply Students in Bulk from the Award & Deny Screen

You can now apply students to a scholarship in bulk by uploading a list of student emails directly to the Award & Deny table.

How it works:

  1. Open a scholarship details and navigate to "Award & Deny" tab

  2. Click on kebob menu and select “Apply applicants in bulk”

  3. Paste or upload a list of student account emails

This makes it easy to add eligible students quickly and efficiently—without manual, one-by-one application.

#4 Email Synchronization with Donor History

Keeping track of donor engagement just got easier. You can now automatically log emails sent from external email tools (such as Gmail or Outlook) to Donor Activity history in AwardSpring.

How it works (currently this feature is for Donor Management customers only to use when communicating with their potential and existing donors):

  • First, find your unique BCC email address to use on donor-facing communications. You can find it here: Email → Settings → BCC Sync

  • Copy and save that email to your address book in your email client/app of choice so you can easily use it on donor-facing messages

  • Create your email to your donor(s) and put this BCC email address in the BCC line of your message

  • Send!

This will ensure your sent message will get tracked in your donor activity in AwardSpring. If an email address isn't found when the platform goes to append the email, it will create a new donor record with that email address.

Other Platform Improvements

Scholarships Controls

  • On the Award & Deny screen, we added ability to filter students based on total amount awarded in the selected cycle.

Smart Reports

  • We enhanced filtering capabilities by introducing a filter on "Application Date" in the "Student + Scholarship" report type.
