A pending tuition payment in your Backpack account refers to a payment that has been scheduled but not yet processed. This payment is waiting for funds to be added from your 529 plan to your Backpack account. Once the funds are added, the payment will be automatically processed and sent to your university.
How to Identify a Pending Tuition Payment
Pending tuition payments are easily identifiable in your Backpack Dashboard. Follow these steps to locate and review your pending payments:
Log in to Your Backpack Account: Enter your credentials to access your account.
Navigate to the Dashboard: On the main menu, select 'Dashboard' to view your account overview.
Go to the Transactions Section: Scroll down to the 'Transactions' section where you can see all your recent and pending transactions.
Look for Pending Payments: Pending payments will be clearly marked with a status as PENDING, as shown in the screenshot below.
What to Do if You Have a Pending Payment
If you see a pending payment, it means that this payment will be processed once you transfer the necessary funds from your 529 plan to your Backpack account. Here are your options:
Add Funds to Your Backpack Account: Ensure you transfer the required amount from your 529 plan to your Backpack account to cover the pending payment.
Review or Cancel the Pending Payment: If you need to make any changes or cancel the payment, you can do so by clicking on the pending payment entry in the transactions section.
