How to Create an Appointment Event?

Appointment events are ideal for one-to-one sessions such as private lessons, consultations, or personal training.

Follow the steps below to create an appointment event on Baluu.

  1. Go to Services and select Listings, click Add a listing

  2. When creating a new listing, you’ll first see the “How would you like to start?” screen

You have two options:

Option 1: Start from Scratch

If you select Start from Scratch, you’ll need to:

  1. Click Add New Listing

  2. Choose Appointment listing type

Then fill in the usual details, such as:

  • Title

  • Description

  • Cover image

  • Price

Click Create listing

Once you’ve completed this step, you’ll be taken to the Basic Details page of your new event, where you can continue setting up availability, tickets, and other settings.

Option 2: Use a Preset (e.g. Consultation service)

You can also select a preset such as Consultation Service (Appointment).

This will automatically apply recommended settings for appointment bookings, which you can fully edit afterwards. It’s a quicker way to set up a structured, appointment-style programme.

Step 2: Set Your Availability

Go to the Availability tab

  1. . Choose Duration Mode

Select how your session duration will be applied:

    • Fixed duration
All sessions will use the same duration across every slot.

    • Variable duration
You can set a different duration for each day when adding availability.

  2. Add Availability to a Day

    1. Select the day you want (e.g. Monday)

    2. Click the + icon next to the day

    3. Open Slot Settings

  3. Configure Slot Settings

Inside Slot Settings, complete the following:

    • Time available
Set the start and end time for the slot

    • Pricing options

      • If you haven’t created a ticket yet, click Add pricing option

      • Create a ticket (e.g. Adult – £15)

      • You can later manage ticket rules in Tickets (v2)

    • Duration (only for variable mode)

      • Select the session duration for this slot

      • This option will not appear if you selected fixed duration

    • Instructor (optional)
Assign the slot to a specific instructor if needed

    • Dates available
Set when this slot should run (start and end date)

    • Buffer time (optional)
Enable Custom buffer for this slot if you need time before or after each session

  4. Example Setup

    In this example:

    • Availability is set for Monday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

    • Session duration is 60 minutes

    • Price is £15 per session

    • A 10-minute buffer is added after each session

    • The schedule runs from 3rd May to 30th June

You can then use the copy option to apply the same schedule to other days.

Rules Tab

In the Rules tab, you can control:

  • Buffer time between sessions (global setting)

  • Notice period (how far in advance bookings must be made)

  • Booking window (how far ahead customers can book)

  • Availability rules (how bookings affect your schedule)

Capacity Tab

In the Capacity tab, you can:

  • Allow multiple tickets per booking

  • Set minimum and maximum guests per booking

  • Define the location of the appointment

Final Step

Click Save Changes to apply your availability.
