How to get more bookings for online events

Launching into live online events is both exciting and a little daunting. You may worry about not getting enough bookings or that they have been coming in too slowly.There are a few things you can do to help improve this!

Add regular dates for the next 3 months at least

If you add more regular dates for the next 3 months you will most likely increase your chances of having more bookings. The reason for this, is due to the fact that customers would be able to book more depending on your availability for your online event sessions.


Encourage reviews

Another factor to consider is the number of reviews left for an online event. Make sure to encourage customers to leave a review on Baluu at the end of each online event. You can also include a note to encourage customers in your Post-event notes that are sent out to each customer 24hrs after the event.

Try different options and topics

It can be difficult to predict what topics will have a better response rate than others during a live online event.

Try adding a number of different basic online events to test the water with different topics. You may also want to test whether the same event is more popular if DIY kits are included and sent out by you, or if they can use what they've got at home.

Optimise your online event

Review your event pages and make sure you've followed our tips for the perfect event.

Make sure the instructions for the online event are clear. Customers like to know what they may need and/or how to best prepare for the online event. By reducing the questions left unanswered, you're more likely to get bookings.

Reduce the price

Offering inexpensive basic online events are a good way to build a loyal customer base who will hopefully come back and book different and follow-on online events with you.

Also think about the possible earnings, 8 customers at £15pp is better than 3 customers at £30pp. Experiment with different pricing strategies and see what works for you.

Recommend different and follow-on online events

Use your Post-event notes to link to other online events you offer and suggest ones you think would be the best follow-on!

Share your online events

Sharing your online events to your following will increase visibility and increase online event bookings.

Send the URL link for your online event on Baluu to those on your mailing list, put the link in your Instagram bio and promote it on your stories and posts. Tweet the link to your online event and share it on Facebook - the possibilities are endless!
