Never used Zoom before? No problem! In this article, we’ll guide you through the simple steps to join a Zoom meeting!

  1. Click the Zoom Meeting Link:

    • Open the email from your staff and locate the Zoom meeting link. Click on the link to start joining the meeting.

  2. Open in Web Browser:

    • Your web browser will open automatically (or you may be prompted to choose a browser). If the link doesn’t open automatically, copy and paste it into your browser’s address bar.

  3. Go to Zoom Join Page:

    • If prompted to open the Zoom app, you can choose to join from your browser instead by looking for the “Join from Your Browser” link. Click it to proceed without needing to install the app.

  4. Enter Meeting ID (if required):

    • If the browser doesn’t automatically direct you to the meeting, manually enter the Meeting ID on the Zoom Join page at https://zoom.us/join.

    • You can find the Meeting ID in the invitation email.

  5. Enter Passcode (if required):

    • If the meeting requires a passcode, you’ll be prompted to enter it. Input the passcode provided and click “Join Meeting.”

    • The passcode is usually not applied for webinars but might be applied for private lessons to allow only signed-up students to join.

    • You can find the Meeting ID in the invitation email.

  6. Allow Browser Permissions:

    • Your browser may ask for permission to use your camera and microphone. Grant these permissions to fully participate in the meeting.

  7. Join the Meeting:

    • You should now be in the meeting. If you’re placed in a virtual waiting room, wait for the host to admit you.

  8. Open Your Camera:

    • Once you’re in the meeting, look for a video camera icon on the bottom toolbar of the Zoom window. Click this icon to turn on your camera. If the icon has a red line through it, your camera is off.

  9. Unmute Yourself:

    • To unmute your microphone, find the microphone icon on the bottom toolbar. Click this icon to unmute yourself. If the icon has a red line through it, your microphone is muted.

We highly recommend you set up and try logging in to a Zoom meeting before the meeting starts. In case you come across a problem, we can help you solve it before hand.
