Who this is for: Any Barti user with access to the VoIP section.

Before you start, you'll need:

  • A Barti account with access to the VoIP section

  • At least one voicemail message in your inbox

Steps

  1. Select VoIP from the left sidebar.

  2. Click Voicemail.

  3. Find the message you want to review. The AI summary and transcript appear automatically below each voicemail entry.

The Barti Voicemail page showing one unread voicemail entry (indicated by a blue dot) for Steve Rogers, phone number (913) 717-9868, 0:13 seconds long, received 01/22/2026 at 02:22 PM. Below the entry, an AI summary icon displays "Steve Rogers is calling to inquire if the practice is accepting new patients and requests a callback at 913-717-6838." The Transcript field shows the full verbatim voicemail text. Create Task and Call buttons appear on the right. Search fields for Patient Name, number, or transcript and a date range filter appear at the top.

What you'll see

AI summary and transcript

Each voicemail displays an AI-generated summary and a full transcription below the message. For very short or silent recordings, the summary may be limited or unavailable.

Non-English messages

If a voicemail is left in a language other than English, a language badge appears in the transcript section (e.g., [ES] for Spanish). The English translation displays immediately below the original text. Language is detected automatically.

A single voicemail entry in the Barti Voicemail table for Hector Rivera, phone number (913) 717-9868, 0:07 seconds long, received 01/22/2026 at 02:35 PM. Below the entry, an AI summary icon displays the text "The caller is requesting an update on their new glasses and asks for someone to call them back with the information." The Transcript field shows an ES language badge followed by the original Spanish text. The Translation field shows the English translation: "Could someone call me to give me an update on my new glasses?" Create Task and Call buttons appear on the right.

Actions available on each voicemail

  • Play — plays the voicemail audio. On smaller screens, the play button replaces the progress bar for a cleaner layout.

  • Create Task — opens the new task dialog with the AI summary pre-filled in the task description. You can edit the description before saving.

  • Mark as Read / Unread — toggles the read status of the voicemail.

  • Delete — removes the voicemail from the table.

The Barti Add New Task dialog, opened from a voicemail. The Description field is pre-populated with an AI-generated summary reading "The caller is requesting an update on their new glasses and asks for someone to call them back with the information." The Assignee field shows Seymour Clearly Jr, OD. The Patient (Optional) field is populated with Hector Rivera. A Deadline field is empty. Create Task and Cancel buttons appear at the bottom.

Troubleshooting

The AI summary is missing or incomplete.

AI summaries work best with clear audio. Very short recordings or messages with significant background noise may produce a limited summary or none at all. The full transcript will still display if audio was detected.

The voicemail is in another language but I don't see a translation.

Confirm the language badge is visible in the transcript section — if it is, the English translation should appear directly below the original text. If neither appears, the language may not be supported. [VERIFY: Confirm whether there is a published list of supported transcription and translation languages to link to here.]

I don't see the VoIP section in my sidebar.
