Who this is for: Any Barti user who wants to make and receive VoIP calls directly from their computer instead of a desk phone.
Before you start, you'll need:
A Barti account with VoIP enabled (confirm the VoIP icon is visible in the left sidebar)
Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
A working microphone connected to your computer
Steps
Log into Barti and confirm the VoIP icon is visible in the left sidebar. If it isn't, contact your admin — VoIP may not be enabled for your account.
Grant your browser microphone permission:
In Chrome or Edge, click the lock icon in the address bar and set Microphone to Allow.
Refresh your browser.
Click your profile initials in the top-right corner.
Enable Allow Incoming Calls and select your microphone from the dropdown.
What you'll see when it works
The Allow Incoming Calls toggle is on and your microphone is selected. Incoming VoIP calls will now ring through your browser.
Troubleshooting
I'm not receiving incoming calls.
Confirm Allow Incoming Calls is enabled — click your profile initials in the top right and check the toggle. If it was already off, enable it and refresh your browser before testing again.
My microphone isn't being detected.
Confirm your browser has microphone permission. In Chrome or Edge, click the lock icon in the address bar and set Microphone to Allow, then refresh the browser.
My audio is choppy or calls are dropping.
Run the Twilio network test to check your connection — see How do I test my network connection for Barti VoIP?. Browser VoIP performs best over UDP. If the test shows UDP blocked, share the results with your Customer Success Manager or submit a support ticket.
