Who this is for: All Barti RCM users who submit or manage claims.
How Barti and TriZetto interact
TriZetto is the clearinghouse between Barti and your payers. When you submit a claim in Barti, it travels to TriZetto, which edits and processes it before sending it on to the payer. Payments recorded in TriZetto flow back into Barti automatically.
Submitting claims
Electronic submission (most claims)
Click Submit Claim in Barti to send the claim digitally to TriZetto. This is the standard submission method.
Manual submission via CMS-1500 (paper)
Click Finalize Claim in Barti to enter the manual workflow. This allows you to print a CMS-1500 form and mail it directly to the payer. VSP and EyeMed claims cannot be submitted through TriZetto, so while those claims can be created in Barti for your records, they must be printed and submitted outside of Barti.
Correcting a rejected claim
If a claim is rejected, corrections must be made directly in TriZetto — not in Barti.
How to correct and resubmit a rejected claim in TriZetto
Open the rejected claim in TriZetto and click Correct/Resubmit Claim.
Click the Payer Information tab and enter the correct payer ID.
Click Resubmit in the top-right corner. The claim is submitted with the correction applied.
Resolving SFTP errors
If a claim shows an Error status, the most common cause is an outdated SFTP password. Update the password in both TriZetto and Barti to resolve it. See How do I reset my TriZetto SFTP password? for step-by-step instructions.
Signing up for TriZetto
When completing the TriZetto sign-up form:
Under EDI Services, select PRE.
For Eligibility EST. Volume, provide your best estimate.
Your Barti Implementation Manager will provide the TriZetto sign-up form and it will be available in the Onboarding Checklist. It is the practice's responsibility to complete the form during implementation.
