Who this is for: All Barti users who manage provider schedules and online availability.
Before you start, you'll need:
Appointment types and request options configured in Appointments → Settings. See How do I customize appointment types and request options in Barti? if these aren't set up yet.
Setting up regular availability
In the main menu, click Appointments.
Select Availability from the submenu.
Select the staff member or provider you want to create a schedule for.
Click Edit Availability.
Click a time slot on the calendar to set availability for that period.
Set the start time, duration, and appointment types for the slot.
Select a visibility type:
Visibility | What it means |
Internal | Visible to staff only — does not appear on the public booking page |
External | Appears on the public booking page for patients to book |
Internal and External | Available for online booking and visible to staff as an open slot |
Select whether to create consecutive slots to fill a block of time automatically.
Save the slot.
Opening a single day for online scheduling
Use this workflow when you want to open one specific day — such as a Saturday — without making all days of that type permanently available.
Create availability for the specific day — follow the steps above to create External slots for the date you want to open (e.g., Saturday March 21, 9am–2pm).
Block all recurring days of that type — go to the calendar and create a recurring block covering that day of the week (e.g., every Saturday). See How do I set recurring blocks on my calendar in Barti? for steps.
Delete just the one occurrence you want open — click the recurring block on your target date, select This event when prompted, and delete it. This removes only that single occurrence, leaving all other recurring blocks intact.
Verify on your public booking page — open your public booking link to confirm the specific date is now available and other days of that type are not.
Viewing and sharing your public booking page
Your public booking link is available in two places:
Appointments → Availability — click Public Booking to open the page, or Copy Public Booking Link to copy the URL.
Appointments → Requests — the link also appears here for quick access.
Add the URL to your practice website so patients can book directly.
