About the automation engine

The automation engine and its architecture (Pulse Pro)

Updated over 3 months ago

The automation engine streamlines system processes by automating notifications based on predefined conditions or events. When triggers occur – such as a student enrolling in a course or completing an assignment – Pulse takes immediate action by sending notifications. This enhances communication, boosts engagement, and reduces manual effort.

The automation engine comprises the following key components.

Exclusive features

The Pulse activity also allows you to send notifications, but the automation engine offers some exclusive features.

  • Easier management through globally managed templates and instance management, enabling seamless deployment and control over numerous courses.

  • Highly scalable and built for extensive Moodle setups, while minimizing strain on server resources.

  • Delay of notifications

  • More adaptive notifications through instance- or template-based headers and footers, along with the integration of course-related dynamic content.

Edit and create an automation template or instance

When editing or creating a new automation instance or template, the settings are arranged in four tabs: general, condition, notification, and instance management. The instance management tab is exclusive to automation templates.
