Initial configuration of Video Time

First steps for the administrator or manager after installation of Video Time

Updated over 2 months ago

After you’ve installed Video Time (Basic, Pro, or Premium), most features work right out of the box. However, to ensure the plugin behaves consistently across your Moodle site, it is recommended to review and configure the global settings.

These settings let you:

  • Define default behaviors for new Video Time activities.

  • Force specific settings site-wide, preventing changes at the activity level.

  • Configure the availability of specific features according to your needs

  • Connect your Vimeo account with Video Time

The following sections highlight examples of settings you can control globally.
For a complete list, refer to the linked articles.
You can access all settings under: Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Video Time

Video Time Basic

After installing Video Time Basic, you can configure the following:

Video Time Pro

With Video Time Pro, you gain access to additional playback and tracking controls:

    • Set default tracking behaviors.

    • Configure Vimeo-specific playback behaviors.

    • Decide which settings to force or mark as advanced.

Video Time Premium

With Video Time Premium, you unlock Vimeo integration and Preview Image Mode:

    • Add your Vimeo app credentials (Client ID and Secret).

    • Set default preview image mode settings.

    • Decide which settings to force or mark as advanced.

    • Connect your Vimeo account to enable direct video selection within Video Time activities.
