Overview of the global settings that control the general behaviour of the Consent Manager plugin.

The general global settings of Consent Manager define how the plugin behaves across your Moodle site and how external content is handled by default.

You can find these settings under Site administration > Plugins > Filters > Consent Manager.


Available settings

  • Operating mode

    Choose how external content should be handled by default on your site.

    • Blacklist (allow all except specified)

      External content is allowed by default. Only services and domains that are explicitly configured and restricted by external services will require user consent.

    • Whitelist (block all except specified)

      External content is blocked by default. Only services and domains that are explicitly configured by external services are loaded after the user has given consent, if required.

  • Display withdraw option

    Choose if and where users can withdraw previously given consent for external content.

    • Disabled – No option to withdraw consent is offered.

    • Above content – The option to withdraw consent is displayed above the external content.

    • Below content – The option to withdraw consent is displayed below the external content.
