The Restrict access section allows you to control who can see a Dash block. By setting specific conditions, you can ensure that content is only displayed to the relevant audience, making dashboards more personalized and less cluttered.
You can find these settings by opening Configure block.
Available settings
Operator – Choose how multiple restrictions are combined.
Any – The block is visible if at least one condition is met.
All – The block is only visible if every condition is met.
Restrict by cohort – Limit visibility to members of specific site cohorts.
Restrict by role – Choose which user roles (e.g., Student, Teacher) can see the block.
Context – Define the context for the role restriction (System or Course).
Restrict by course group – Display the block only to members of selected groups.
Restrict by course completion status – Show the block based on whether a user has completed a specific course.
Restrict by course grade – Show the block based on the grade achieved in a specific course.
None
Lower than – Enter value.
Higher than – Enter value.
Between – Enter first the lower, then the higher value.
Restrict by activity completion status – Show the block based on whether a user has completed a specific activity.
Options: None, incomplete, complete, passed, failed.
Select activity – Choose the specific activity to be used for the completion restriction above.
Note: The available options for course groups, completion status, grades, and activities are determined by the specific course where the block is located.
