Can I iron my bean bag cover?

Updated over a week ago

We do not recommend ironing your bean bag cover.

Most of our covers are made from high-performance fabrics such as polyester, solution-dyed acrylic, or olefin, which are specifically designed to be low-maintenance and resistant to wrinkling. These materials can be damaged by direct heat, and ironing may cause melting, warping, or loss of protective coatings like UV or water resistance.

What to Do Instead

If your cover has slight creases or wrinkles:

  • Hang it up and let gravity do the work

  • Use a hand steamer on a low setting, keeping it a safe distance from the fabric

  • For outdoor covers, laying them in the sun briefly can help relax the fabric naturally

In Summary

No – ironing is not recommended for bean bag covers, as high heat can damage the fabric. Instead, use gentle steaming or hanging methods to smooth out any wrinkles.
