Domain and email warmup is the process that allows you to slowly introduce your domain and email to the outside world. This process is important because it helps you build a positive reputation with inbox providers so your emails are more likely to land in the inbox over time. The length of time it takes to warm up your domain and email depends on your individual situation. Generally, the process can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.
How can I warm up my new domain using Betterleap?
Start with lower sending limits
We recommend starting with lower volume limits, approximately 20 emails per day. As your open and reply rates increase, you can gradually increase your volume limits. To set your volume limits, go to Settings and change the Maximum number of emails to send per day.
Space Out Email Sending Frequency
We recommend setting the "Minimum seconds to wait between emails" to 300 seconds so there's ample buffer time in between each email. You can change this from Settings.
Give your Contacts an Ability to Opt Out
To add an unsubscribe link to your sequences, head on over to Settings and check the Unsubscribe box. This will create a link that your recipient can click to unsubscribe from all future emails that you or your teammates send.
What if I don't warm up my domain or email properly?
If a domain or email address is not properly warmed up, it can significantly increase the chances of being flagged as spam. This can result in a damaged reputation over time, meaning emails sent to recipients are more likely to end up in their spam folders instead of their inbox. To avoid this, it is important to ensure that proper warming up practices are followed when setting up a domain or email address.
