Health-Based Goals

There are four types of goals you can set in the BetterYou app: health-based goals, educational goals, mindfulness goals, and social goals.

The Sleep and Steps goals are considered Health-based Goals.

The Steps goal uses the data collected by the your device's OS* (Android or iOS) in their respective native “Health Kit” apps.

*Android = Google Fit

*iOS = Apple Health

Additionally if you're using a fitness-tracker/wearable be sure to sync the data to your phone before refreshing the BetterYou app to update any relevant health-based goals!

The Sleep goal does not actually track your sleep patterns, or amount of REM-sleep. Rather, we are are measuring sleep disturbances based on the number of times you unlock your phone during the period you set and amount of time you spend using your device.
