Assistants are specialized AI helpers, comparable to OpenAI's Custom GPTs and Anthropic's Projects. They are optimized for specific tasks, can be configured with their own instructions and knowledge, and deliver consistent results for your team.
Overview and categories
In the assistants overview you'll find four sections:
All Assistants: the complete overview of all available assistants
My Assistants: assistants you created yourself
Public Assistants: assistants that were shared with you
Pre-Built Assistants: assistants curated by Beyond the Loop for common use cases
How many curated assistants are available to you depends on your plan. Use the search or filter by category. Click Show More to see the full description, the base model, the creativity setting and the stored knowledge.
Pinning favorites
Use the bookmark icon (top left) to pin your most important assistants. They then appear at the very top of the overview.
Creating your own assistant
Every assistant consists of these basic elements:
Icon: the visual identifier
Name: a concise name that describes the purpose
Description: a short explanation of what it does
System prompt: your assistant's working instructions
The system prompt
The system prompt defines how your assistant works. Users don't see it, but it shapes every answer. An effective system prompt covers three core elements:
Product: What should the assistant achieve? (e.g. "Write SEO-optimized blog articles")
Process: How should it proceed? (work steps, methods, order)
Behavior: In what style, format and tone? (e.g. professional, concise)
Tip: Use Prompto, the prompt engineer (found among the Pre-Built assistants) to create system prompts for new assistants. Then test your assistant regularly, collect feedback from your team and sharpen the system prompt: good assistants are built iteratively.
Adding knowledge
Equip your assistant with specific knowledge:
Individual files: Upload relevant documents directly
Knowledge bases: Add one or more knowledge bases via the plus icon at the top right
Conversation starters
Predefined conversation starters help your team get going: they show what the assistant is meant for, save time on recurring requests and lead to consistent results.
Further settings
Category: makes the assistant easier to find in the overview
Access rights: Decide who may use the assistant
Base model: the AI model the assistant works with
Creativity: Balanced (default), Creative (more variety, but more prone to hallucinations) or Determined (maximum consistency)
