Welcome to Bilance! In just 5 minutes, you can set up your account, get a clear overview of your finances, and start managing your money like a pro. Follow these 5 simple steps to get started:

1. Connect All Your Accounts

Start by connecting as many of your accounts as possible to get a complete financial picture. Focus on your main banking and credit card accounts where most of your transactions happen. Savings and investment accounts can’t be added just yet.

👉 Tip: Adding all your accounts ensures there are no gaps in your data and allows Bilance to automatically detect and track movements between accounts, such as transfers. This keeps your financial overview accurate and hassle-free.

2. Review and Categorize Transactions

Once your accounts are connected, head to the Dashboard tab to review your latest transactions. Check that everything is categorized correctly and make adjustments where needed.

👉 Why? Accurate categorization ensures that your data is reliable and tailored to your spending habits. Plus, Bilance learns from your changes, improving categorization for future transactions.

3. Explore the Overview Tab

Go to the Overview tab to see a breakdown of your spending by category. Take your time to review each category in the list to understand where your money is going.

👉 Why? You might uncover surprises or identify areas where you’re overspending. These insights are the first step to making meaningful changes to your financial habits.

4. Create Budgets

With your transactions reviewed and categories understood, head to the Planning tab to create budgets. Budgets help you stay on track, avoid overspending, and work toward your financial goals.

👉 Pro Tip: Start with realistic budgets to make them easier to follow and adjust them over time as needed.

👉 Pro Tip: Begin with simpler categories like Groceries, Eating Out, and Shopping to get started easily—you can always add more later as needed.

5. Track Recurring Expenses

Add your recurring expenses, such as bills and subscriptions, to get a clear picture of your monthly commitments. This helps you spot subscriptions you no longer need and ensures you’re prepared for upcoming payments.
