Please note: The following feature is available as part of Birdie’s Starter, Core, Advanced, Plus, Care Management and Advanced Care Management packages (As well as Care Management & Rostering, Care Management, Rostering & Finance, Premium) Please get in touch if interested in more information on this feature!

You can add important documents and information for your Carer such as:

  • Onboarding documentation (DBS, identity, etc.)

  • Skills and training certificates/documentation

  • Expiry dates for documents

Start by going to the Team tab and then click on the specific Carer. Here, you will find two tabs that allow you to add skills and documents - 'Onboarding' & 'Skills'.

Store important HR documents relating to a Carer onboarding in the Onboarding tab. In there, you can store the following HR information:

  • Employment start date

  • National insurance number

  • Copy of ID

  • Copy of contract

  • Role

  • Bank statement

Adding skills

You can also record skills & certifications in the Skills tab - The full list of available skills can be seen in the article - What skills are available in Birdie?

For more information on skills that require training and skills that require training and competency please see this article - How to match a caregiver's skills to a client's needs.

Please note: The expiration date is mandatory, for skills and training that do not expire please put a date far in the future.

How to add a skill that is not on the list

It is not possible to name or add your own skill, there is a drop-down of skills we have preloaded. If a Carer has a certificate or training that is not on the list, you can select Other on the drop-down menu and upload the certificate or document in the upload file section. You can then add notes to explain what the skill is, this will then appear on the skills list.
