If you are the Administrator of your Organization, there are a few ways to get your users up and running:
Easiest & Preferred -- You can ask them to visit the website
and to sign up (See Simplifying User Sign up)
If you still want to invite users by hand, here are two different ways:
Invite users -- this will send everyone that you add an email asking them to sign in and confirm their email. Note: users are then unable to sign up on their own, as it will tell them to look for the invite email.
Manually add users even if they have no email. This is handy for adding "generic" users for devices installed in your apparatus (engines, ladder trucks, command vehicles, etc.), or if your email server blocks our emails.
Invite Users
You can "Invite Users" as follows:
From the Admin Menu
Choose "Manage Users"
Click on the "Invite Users"
How to use the tabular input
Fill out the form with the email and name of the new user(s)
You can also have a prepared excel spreadsheet with the columns and user information that can be easily copied (Ctrl+C) from Excel and pasted (Ctrl+V) into the table to add the users to be invited more quickly.
You can manually add new rows as needed (right-click)
The users will receive invitation emails so that they can confirm their email and set up their password.ย
By default, they will be added in the "User" role with basic "read-only" permissions, and they will be approved (since you invited them!).
As an Admin, you may want to change their role to meet the specific needs of that user.
See the related help article on User Roles.
Invite User Errors
If the user tries to sign up and you have already invited them, their sign up will not work, and will generate the following error message.
"You have a pending invitation in your email..."
Find your email and click on the link to accept the invitation
If it still does not work, then ask your Admin to delete your user and either simply sign up, or send a new invite (and check your email).
Add New Users
You can also choose to "Manually Add Users."
โ
This is useful for unusual user logins such as:
Setting up apparatus logins (e.g., engine71@pltwfd.org)
Or if the user's do not receive email from Blazemark; for example, some corporate email servers block our emails
Users entered into the table will receive an email notification that they were added to your organization. They will be able to login using their email as a temporary password, and then be required to change their password the first time.
Same advice as above applies to filling in user data in the tabular form.
