There are numerous articles here in the help system to get you on your way to creating your first Preplan. This is an "intelligent" help and chat system that will attempt to provide you articles related to the question you type in! (More here.)

In a Hurry?

I know, enough talking... You want to jump in and create a preplan. It's so easy, you simply need to do the following:

  • Toggle Edit Mode on

  • Click "New" and choose a Simple Structure to start.

  • Then simply add elements as you see fit...

    • Floorplans

    • Accesses

    • Shutoffs

    • Hydrants

    • and a dozen more...

See more tutorial info in "Creating a Preplan" (including how to do it with your phone).

Consistency is a Quality!

We keep things very consistent so that once you learn a concept in one part of Blazemark, it applies everywhere.

Some Useful Reading

How Does Blazemark Define a Preplan? provides some foundational information of just what we consider a preplan to be. It helps set up some terminology that we use in Blazemark.

Water Supplies/Hydrants

A major aspect to Preplanning is to know where your Water Supplies are. There are many articles related to Water Supplies, and tips on how to Bulk Import 100s or 1000s of hydrants.

Responding to Incidents

Once you enter a few preplans, you can read up on how response mode streamlines getting you to the information when time is of the essence!

Preplanning in the Real World

When you are ready to go out and preplan a handful of buildings, feel free to download and use our Preplanning Data Collection Form.

You can also get a jump start by using Google Maps as shown here:

Org Admin Features

Repeating Structure Patterns/Templates

Once you get the hang of Blazemark, you may find yourself creating structure entries that follow a common pattern (typically due to common construction techniques in apartment complexes, housing developments, strip malls, etc.). We call this a Structure Template that allows you to tailor Blazemark to both streamline data entry and to increase consistency across similar structures.

Adding Users

At some point, you will want to add users and sign up others in your organization.

Work with your Neighbors

And when you decide to grant Mutual Aid access to neighboring organizations, you can look at your organization admin menu to get started.
