How do I connect my Kraken account directly?
OAuth or API is the initially preferred method of integration.
If necessary, additional CSV files can be uploaded afterwards. When uploading CSV files, make sure to avoid transaction duplicates. More information on this can be found under CSV file upload.
To import your data, you must first create an Integration in the Blockpit Web App.
To do so, navigate to the menu item Integrations in your Dashboard and click on +Integration.Select Kraken from the list of exchanges, and select Connect Account.
Next connect your Kraken account by entering your credentials and 2FA.
Allow the Third Party: Blockpit access.
Now your Blockpit integration is directly connected to Kraken.
💡 If the direct connection does not work you can alternatively add your Integration via API key as follows below.
iOS app The Apple Private Relay, which is activated by default, must be deactivated before the connection, as it is not possible to verify a new device via the app.

Your Secret is now shown only once and available to copy!
To import your data, you must first create an Integration in the Blockpit Web App.
To do so, navigate to the menu item Integrations in your Dashboard and click on +Integration.Select Kraken from the list of exchanges, navigate to API and copy the API key and the Secret into the designated fields in their full length, as shown above.

💡 Tip: If you are unable to create an Integration without "Mismatched Balances" using an initial OAuth/API integration and additional CSV uploads, try creating a CSV Integration first and then convert your Integration into an API Integration afterwards. In addition, use a current import start date (e.g. import time span: today's date) as a separator to avoid transaction duplicates.
Which data can be imported via direct Kraken OAuth connection or API key?
Your complete transaction history always serves as the basis for your tax report. Preferably, automatic OAuth or API solutions are used to import your transactions. Our team is committed to implementing all API data provided by your exchange for you.
Using the following list, you can identify all implemented products:
Transactions
Supported
✅ Deposits & Withdrawals
✅ Fee Payments
✅ Conversions
✅ Spot Market Trades
✅ Margin Trades as PnL
✅ Earn & Funding: Rewards & Distributions (Staking, Lending, Airdrops, Bounties)
Not Supported
⛔ Kraken Bundles
⛔ Small Balance Conversions (Dust)
❗ Transactions with status “Failure” cannot be identified and excluded automatically. Any resulting transaction duplicates must be excluded manually subsequently.
❗ Internal transfers from Parachain Auctions are imported as unlabeled Deposits and Withdrawals and must be excluded manually).
In case of missing transactions, you can help our support team via chat-request to include them in our import spectrum (if technically possible).
Missing transactions can be found by comparing the actual history of your exchange. You can then add these directly to your Blockpit Integration by subsequently uploading your CSV file (see below) or by migrating your CSV data into our Excel template.
Synced Balance
Supported
✅ Complete import scope
If your Synced Balance is displayed incompletely, you can help our support team via chat-request to include it in our import spectrum (if technically possible).
How do I get my Kraken CSV file?
Download and upload your Kraken CSV file
The following steps will help you download your Kraken CSV file and import it into Blockpit:
Log into your Kraken account.
Click your profile icon / name in the top-right corner and select Documents (or History > Export).
Set the export settings as follows:
Export type: Select Ledgers
Fields: Select All (default)
Date range: Select your desired timeframe (preferably whole tax years from 01.01 to 31.12)
Format: Ensure CSV is selected
Click Generate (or Submit) to start the export request.
As soon as the file has been generated by Kraken (status changes from Queued to ready), click the Download icon to save your
.csvfile. We also recommend naming the file after the corresponding transaction period (Example: Kraken history 2023-01-01 - 2023-12-31).You can now import the file into Blockpit:
Option A – New Standalone CSV Integration: Click Add Integration > select Kraken > switch to the CSV tab.
Option B – Existing Integration (Consecutive Upload): Go to your Integrations tab, click Edit / Upload CSV on your existing Kraken integration as shown below.
Now drag the corresponding file(s) into the field displayed below and confirm your entry with Save to upload your transactions.
❗ When uploading your transactions into your Integration, the system does not check for transaction duplicates.
Transactions that already exist in your Integration must therefore be removed from the CSV file before uploading.
💡 If the upload of your original CSV file does not work, please try to update your internet browser version first or use an alternative browser to eliminate potential sources of error.
