On some blockchains, assets seem to disappear from your wallet when you use Staking: Blockpit only sees a withdrawal without a counterpart. With a manual staking integration you show that the assets still belong to you. Cost basis and holding period are kept, balance and portfolio value are correct again.
ℹ️ Good to know: For many cases there is now a simpler way. With the labels Stake Transfer and DeFi Transfer you move staked assets into a sub-integration without creating a manual integration. Try this way first. This guide remains valid for everything the labels do not cover and explains how the previous way works.
Do I need a manual staking integration?
That depends on how your blockchain or wallet records Staking.
Yes, if everything applies
✅ Synced Balance too low: Your integration shows exactly the staked amount too little.
✅ Withdrawal without a counterpart: For the Staking there is an outgoing transaction, usually with Unlabeled (Out).
✅ No staking key of its own: There is no public key with which you could add the staking wallet as an integration of its own.
No, if …
⛔ the blockchain already delivers staking: Transactions and balance come in automatically via the public key, for example with Cosmos.
⛔ there is a staking key of its own: Then you add the staking wallet as another integration, for example with Solana.
💡 Synced Balance is already correct, including staking?
Then the withdrawal into Staking is rather an internal operation, and only your calculated balance differs. In this case you simply delete the outgoing transaction normally. It then no longer flows into the calculation.
Why is this important?
If a staking operation books assets out without them arriving in another integration, Blockpit considers them gone. If they still belong to you, you transfer their holding period and cost basis with a Transfer into the staking integration. At the same time balance and portfolio value on the dashboard are correct again.
Special case: assets locked in smart contracts
Locking in smart contracts also often creates a withdrawal without a counterpart, for example when restaking liquid staking tokens (LST) in EigenLayer. The solution is the same: a manual staking integration.
Create a manual staking integration
First look in Transactions for the withdrawal into Staking, usually with Unlabeled (Out).
ℹ️ Good to know: In the example below, 1 ETH was moved from an Ethereum integration into Staking. This withdrawal becomes a Transfer into the new staking integration.
1️⃣ At the top right, click + Integration.
2️⃣ Enter Manual Integration in the search field and click Manual Integration.
3️⃣ Name it, for example, Manual Staking Wallet and click Continue. It then appears on the dashboard.
Turn the withdrawal into a transfer
1️⃣ On the withdrawal, click Edit (pencil icon).
2️⃣ Choose Transfer as the label, then your new staking integration as the counterpart, and click Save.
3️⃣ The transaction appears as a Transfer, and the balance is shown in the staking wallet on the dashboard.
💡 Tip: If you later take the assets back out of Staking, you proceed the same way, only in the other direction: a Transfer from the staking integration back into your wallet.
Common mistakes
✗ Labeling the staking withdrawal as a sale or Lost → balance is missing, cost basis and holding period are lost
✗ Creating a staking integration although the Synced Balance is correct → the assets appear twice in the portfolio
