BlueGive 2.0 Update (9.5.25)

Addressing early advisor and donor feedback and providing an update on completed and in-progress items.

Updated this week

On behalf of the BlueGive Care team, we want to thank you for your continued partnership and for the valuable feedback you’ve shared during our recent product launch. Your input helps us refine and improve the platform so that it delivers even greater value to you and your clients.

We want to take a moment to share a transparent update with you:

What We’ve Heard

  • Ongoing training should be made available to both donors and advisors as the new platform has caused some confusion of where things are now, versus where they were previously. To that end, please see below a list of ongoing webinar opportunities available to both donors and advisors, as well as a refresh of Blake, Kellie, and Weronika’s calendar links for 1:1 discussions.

  • Some functionality (like favorites, transaction history, etc) are harder to find but most commonly used by BlueGive donors (see below points for updates)

  • ACH payments, though now more available as an offering, is often misunderstood as it relates to timing and process to get set up, if not already (addressed below as well)

  • Platform bugs: Addressed below as well, though notably we will have 100% of bugs raised addressed in the coming weeks (in priority/impacted user count order)

  • Mobile Experience: The mobile experience is difficult to navigate. Though this point will be addressed, with 90%+ of users accessing BlueGive via desktop/laptop devices, we will move to mobile following all broader platform improvements.

What We’ve Already Addressed

  • Security Contribution Entries: 3 decimal points for entries and bulk upload issues are now addressed on the platform.

  • Favorites” is hard to find: We released an update to now allow favorites to be selected directly from the donor home page. Simply hover over the “Favorites” header and click to be brought to the broader Favorite Charity section.

  • Top Charity for Family Users displayed incorrect data: Addressed in the platform initially through suppressing the charity name; follow-up to come on dynamic inputs.

  • Add "Delete Invitation" option in Resend Invitation pop-up: Addressed and live in the platform.

  • Adjust Allocation bug for pooled funds: Addressed and live in the platform, adjust allocations for users currently in Cash is now restored. This can be accessed via the Manage Investments button within the Manage Clients view of your advisor platform.

  • Advisor Email Addresses: All login credentials are now changed to reflect the bluetrust.com email domain (from ronblue.com)

  • Payment Type was not updating: For some causes who were set up for ACH, the payment type was not correctly displaying as such. This is now updated to reflect the proper payment status for all charities.

  • Scheduled Contributions not displaying next scheduled date, and status was not updating: Fixed and live on the platform.

  • Advisor Contact Card to reflect current email (bluetrust.com): Completed and live on the platform

  • Giving Goal bug with incorrect calculations: Fixed and live on the platform

  • Custom charity images not loading: Fixed and live on the platform

  • Advisor Homepage actions were not intuitive/accurately reflecting action items: Redesigned to reflect broader feedback with bugs (i.e., view transactions) addressed.

  • Add Search Bar to Manage Clients section to search for donor names: Completed and live on the platform.

  • Sorting not working properly in the Manage Clients section: Fixed and in production (sort for DAF AUM pending release)

  • BlueGive History to reflect 30 days: Addressing feedback that lifetime grant history was somewhat static, we have updated the card on the homepage (Tending on BlueGive) to reflect the last 30 days of grants. Further, we will deploy an update to reflect total number of grants versus dollar value to better display charities that the broader community is supporting.

What’s Coming Before the End of the Quarter

In total, we have ~40 releases planned over the next 3-4 weeks. Below are the most common feedback points that we plan to address in the near term with the highest impact to the overall user experience:

  • Historic Charity Data: Upon release, we pulled this back to address early feedback. Prior, in the charity details page we simply called out that a donor had granted to the organization previously. Feedback from the field was that the intent was to understand not only that grants have been made, but how many and for what total dollar amount. The below will be released in the coming weeks:

  • Recent Transactions: Early feedback was that this was hard to locate/minimized in the new experience. The first way we are addressing this is simply enlarging the text and adding the word “View” to make it more clear on what action should be taken. The second updated to address is listed below in the next bullet.

  • Removing Suggested Causes from the Homepage. We have heard from you all that BlueGive donors are less likely to look for suggestions, but rather want to grant to favorites quickly (addressed in the above section with the quick link from the homepage), and, view their transaction history. To remedy this, we are removing the Suggested Causes section and replacing the widget with a linked card to the Recent Transactions section, while highlighting some metrics immediately upon logging in (calling it Philanthropic Impact, which when clicked, directs to all transaction data):

  • ACH text updated: We have seen a few examples where the text displayed in the grant confirmation screen is leading to confusion. More specifically, if a charity is not currently established with ACH payments, we note that by saying that the grant will be sent via check, but if you would like to request ACH payments please reach out to the Care team. To be clear, if a charity is not currently set up for ACH, selecting Complete Gift will process that grant as a check, and it is challenging to stop it from there. The update here will be to create better clarity through text to instruct donors who do wish for ACH to not submit the grant, but rather reach out to the care team first to ensure funds are sent with the desired method.

  • Better filterability for transactions: As many donors process numerous grants and contributions, while also scheduling some for the future, the recent transactions table is hard to navigate. To address this, we will be introducing a host of new filter functionality, ensuring you can not only filter down to find the sought-after transaction, but further create a search bar to better locate a specific charity:

  • Updating the Note Feature for Grants: We currently show two note options, which has lead to confusion. Coming soon will be an update to reflect a drop down selection under Reason for Giving, with the option to add a custom note, or, use fully completed grant note options (these pre-written notes will also be auto-approved, cutting one day off of grant processing times. All custom notes do require a brief review per IRS guidelines):

  • Adding more details to security contribution transaction cards: Will now include Ticker, Quantity, Security name, and Custodian from which the shares are coming from:

  • Contribution Total Bug: Calculations on the transactions bar charts currently include canceled contributions. This will be fixed to reflect only completed or pending contributions.

  • Bank Account funding latency: Currently, the Plaid integration for Adding Funds via a Bank Account loads very slowly, sometimes not loading at all after a timeout. This bug is being addressed and should be fixed by next week (9/12/25).

  • Downloading Transaction Data: We will be releasing a feature to download all transaction data per advisor request, to allow for data manipulation and review. First release will allow for CSV downloads of all transaction data.

  • Succession Planning Bug: There is a recently reported bug for the contingent successor workflow that does not allow one to be named if the current allocation is set at 100%. This will be addressed in the coming weeks (we will also look to relocate this to its own tab in the profile section, rather than have it listed under the broader profile inputs).

  • Editing DAF name: Adding the ability to edit the DAF/Fund name within the recent transactions section of the platform.
