We understand that you can't always send a detailed estimate to a customer, especially when you are performing diagnostic work. However, you still need the customer to authorize the work and agree to and diagnostic terms.
Authorizing Diagnostic Work
It is simple to send a work order approval to a customer by following the steps below to set up and send a diagnostic work authorization to customers, ensuring they agree to the terms of service before any diagnostic work begins.
Step 1: Set Up a Diagnostic Service
Set up a service called 'Diagnostics' in Boatyard. Click here for instructions on how to set up a new service.
In the service description, add an overview of your diagnostic terms and work authorization.
βStep 2: Create Customer Order
When creating a customer's order, select the 'Diagnostics' service.
Include any additional information relevant to the diagnostic work.
βStep 3: Document Customer's Complaint
Add a description of the customer's complaint in the diagnostic service description.
βStep 4: Send Estimate to Customer
Send the estimate to the customer for their approval
Customer Approval
Your customer will be able to see the overview of your diagnostic terms within their estimate before they accept the estimate.
You can include more detailed legal language for your work authorization in your estimate's terms and conditions. The customer is required to acknowledge and agree to the terms before they can accept the estimate.
