Invite a Customer to Your Customer Portal

Your customers will receive an email with a link and all they have to do is pick a password and they are done!

Once your customer has activated their account in the portal, they will be able to easily request service, pay their invoices, accept estimates, view their order history, etc.

You have the option of sending a portal invite to your customer manually, or in bulk using our invite template.

This article focuses on manually inviting a single customer to use your portal.

Once your customer receives the Customer Portal invite all they need to do is click the link in the email and then pick a password. All their account information and order history from Boatyard will automatically be added to their new portal account.


How to Send a Portal Invite

First, you will want to go to the CUSTOMER section in the Boatyard dashboard.

Once you are in your customers section of the dashboard, locate the customer you want to invite.

You can search for your customer by name, email address, or phone number.

Once you've found your customer, click on the Invite to Portal button on the Customer Profile screen.

You will then be asked to confirm that you would like to send the invite email to your customer. Click Invite to send the email.

Your customer will now receive an email with a link to your portal, and all they need to do is pick a password to activate their account!

You can only send an invite to a customer once every 24 hours.

If your customer has not accepted the invite, the INVITE TO PORTAL button will be inactive for 24 hours and then you will be able to resend the invite.

If your customer already has an account in your portal the button will be replaced with IN PORTAL, so you don't need to worry about sending an invite to customers who have already set-up an account.
