How to Add a Customer in Boatyard

Learn how to manually create a new customer record by using the Customers module in Boatyard.

In this article, we will go over how to add customers into your Boatyard dashboard.

How to Create a New Customer Record in Boatyard:

  1. Sign into your Boatyard dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the menu on the left-hand side and Click on the "Customers" module.

  3. Select "Add a New Customer" button in the top right-hand corner.

Enter the customer's details, including their:

  1. First Name (Required)

  2. Last Name (Required)

  3. Email (required)

  4. Phone number (required)

  5. Address (optional)

You have the option of setting the customer as VIP. This is a great way to identify customers that bring in a lot of revenue.

Click "Save" to create the customer in the system.

Tips for Efficiency

After you've added your customer to your Boatyard dashboard, you can invite them to use the Customer Portal. Just open their profile and click the "Send Portal Invite" button.

In the Customer Portal, your customers can easily add their insurance and payment information, update their contact details, book services, and more.

You can also use the "Notes" section to share important information with your team, like gate codes, key locations, or any special requests from the customer.
