Updated VPAT v2.5

A VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is a document that shows how well our platform meets accessibility standards.

In April 2024, we updated our VPAT to version 2.5 to match the latest accessibility guidelines. These updates help ensure that Book Creator follows important rules like WCAG 2.2, Section 508, and EN 301 549.

One key change in VPAT 2.5 is a clearer way to report accessibility. The term "supports with exceptions" has been replaced with "partially supports" to make conformance levels easier to understand.

Another big improvement is the addition of a new column that provides detailed explanations of how different features meet accessibility requirements. This helps everyone better understand our commitment to inclusivity.

How We Test for Accessibility

We use the following assistive technologies, browsers, and platforms to check accessibility:

  • Chromebook with ChromeVox

  • Windows 10 with Narrator

  • Mac and iOS with Safari and VoiceOver

  • Lighthouse

  • WCAG Contrast Checker (Chrome extension)

  • WAVE (Chrome extension)

These updates reinforce our commitment to accessibility and compliance, ensuring that Book Creator remains inclusive and aligned with evolving accessibility standards.
